The legislature is back in session and we are hearing that politicians in Raleigh plan to double-down on their regressive agenda.
That means refusing to expand Medicaid, denying 625,000 people access to health care. That means more tax breaks for the rich, while working families pay more. That means teachers will continue to be underpaid, and our classrooms will be underfunded. That means slashing environmental protections, while protecting big polluters like Duke Energy.
In short it means the wrong priorities for hard-working North Carolinians.
But, you can’t fight back unless you know what’s going on. That’s why we produce a weekly newsletter, The Monday Memo, that highlights the two or three biggest issues in state and national politics and provides guidance on a better path forward.
