Nearly 2,000 immigrant children were torn from their families during six weeks in April and May. Children are being held in deplorable conditions as parents are being held in federal prisons. The policy so far has pushed shelters to their capacity. Trump plans to house these children on military bases and in tents in the desert. This "zero tolerance" policy is cruel, inhumane, and un-American.
