The proposed cuts to the State Health Plan represent the latest attacks on state employees and teachers in North Carolina. Thanks to the budget passed by the legislature and signed by Governor McCrory, the State Health Plan board of trustees is being forced to make dramatic cuts, including publicly floating the elimination of spousal coverage and a popular plan, along with across the board cost hikes.
For state employees who haven't received a significant raise in years, this is another slap in the face. We urge Governor McCrory and politicians in the legislature to reverse these harmful cuts and keep the State Health Plan strong.
